Repetative But Addictive 'Dragon, Fly'- Game Review

“Dragon, Fly” is the name of today’s Android game. The game by developer Four Pixels tells the story of a baby dragon that wants to fly.
Unfortunately, it’s still too small, but by sliding down the hill the dragon can get up to speed and ‘fly’ through the air.
This game is all about timing, when to touch the screen (to go down) and when to let go (to fly), on top of that the baby dragon’s mother is after him, trying to take him back home. It’s my task to keep the baby dragon in the air and out of its nest. Can I do that?

The little baby dragon swooshes and flies through a world full of small and large hills, as you progress you enter different realms where the hills have different colors. The graphics of Dragon, Fly are very cute. When you go to a next level, your baby dragon alters color, there are blue vials and diamonds to collect. The graphics look lovely and run without a glitch, but they’re also quite simple, there’s not a lot of detail and despite the fact that the game changes color every realm and that the realms look differently every day, the game looks the same. The realms get more difficult with different shaped hills every realm, but I’d like to see even more variation and then I don’t mean along the lines of what the game offers now, but flying at night or flying in a canyon-like surrounding. The graphics of Dragon, Fly are very cute and lovely, but a different kind of variation then what they offer now (even though I absolutely love that the realms change every day) would make the game more challenging.

The idea behind Dragon, Fly is that you continuously do the same thing, but that you get better and get to new realms and finish quests. This is very repetitive, but once you start playing, you want to get better and get to the next quest. This game is perfect for on-the-go and if you have a few minutes to spare. It’s not a game that I would play for hours on end. There’s nothing to learn and in order to discover something new you have to plough through all the old realms you already know. It could be that I’m just not that good at this game that makes me like this game, but doesn’t make it one of my favorites.
